The James Webb Telescope: New Discoveries

July 13, 2023

Join the DC and NASA astronomer ambassador Rod Cortright for this night under the stars. The Hubble Space Telescope has been described as the most productive scientific instrument ever built. Being in orbit for over 30 years, Hubble is nearing the end of its operational life. Now, the James Webb Space Telescope, launched on Christmas Day, 2021, is the first of the next generation of space telescopes. This family-friendly presentation will explore the technology of this new instrument and the major discoveries that it has made so far. This is an outdoor event. Please bring a camp chair and red lens flashlight.
