You’ll visit the site of a CCC camp\, and practice “reading” the forest. Lead by Julie Crick (MSU Extension) and DNR historian Hillary Pine. \nWear sturdy hiking shoes\, long pants and a hat. Bring a walking stick. \nMeet in front of the PRC DNR Headquarters building\, not the Discovery Center. Car caravan from Forest Headquarters to Inspiration Point Trailhead leaves at 9:40am. This event starts at the Discovery Center\, where you’ll learn about why native seed collection is crucial for the restoration of native grasslands. Then we’ll head out to the field to gather seeds\, so dress for the weather with sturdy\, water-resistant footwear and bring a water bottle and snacks.
